The product designer allows to design any previously purchased photo product within a few minutes. We will show you how to design and then submit a typical photo product (a mobile phone case). Please note that the following steps also apply to any other photo product purchased from us, the only difference is the format of the print area.
We recommend watching the following, short video that shows you how to upload a photo to us:
1. After the purchase, you will receive a link from us directly taking you to the individual product, so you don’t have to manually select the item. After clicking on the link, the product designer interface opens, showing you the design area (white with a black border). In order to start the design process, simply click on ‘CLICK OR DROP IMAGES HERE’.
2. If you are using a computer to design your product (which we highly recommend), a window will open, allowing you to select one or several pictures. Please note that we support standard JPEGs with up to 10MB in size. If you are using a mobile device, clicking on the button normally triggers the photo gallery to open in order to select the required photo. Please note though that this can differ from device to device and in some cases, selecting photos on a mobile device doesn’t work, in which case we can only suggest to use a regular computer instead.

3. After the upload, the first image will be automatically added to the white canvas. The picture can then be re-positioned, rotated and resized by clicking on it and using the symbols at the corners. Those allow to duplicate (top-left), rotate (top-right), resize (bottom-right) and delete (bottom-left). If you want to have more than one picture printed on your photo product, please continue by selecting the second picture (or by uploading it via the button).
Please make sure that any element important to you is not placed within approx. 1cm of the black border (including camera holes etc. if shown in the designer) as we will crop certain areas during the print.
4. If you don’t want the picture(s) to cover the background completely, you can change the background colour by simply clicking on the white area. A pop-up will then allow to select from different background colours. This step is only required if you don’t cover the whole white canvas with one or more pictures, otherwise you can skip selecting a background colour.
5. Additionally, you can add one or more text layers to your design by selecting the large A-symbol. Please type the text in the text box and add the text layer to your design by clicking on ‘Add Text’.
6. The text can be edited very similar to a picture, the symbols around the corners are also present. Additionally, a pop-up allows further changes, including the font, font size, line height, border colour and even a curved text.
7. Once you are happy with your design, you can download a copy for your personal records by clicking the download button. This is purely optional, you DON’T need to send us the download, it is just for your reference.
8. In order to start the actual submission process, please scroll down. You will find multiple questions in regards to the photo product. Please read those carefully as they ensure that you understand the print requirements while you can stell make changes to your design.
Once you have answered the questions, you can continue by clicking on the ‘Add to submission‘-button at the bottom of the list. Please also make sure that the amount shown beside the button reflects the amount required for printing, so if you have ordered more than one photo product and you want to have the same design printed on multiple items (as long as they are the same product), please put the required amount in the field.
9. The product designer will show you the submission data check, which gives you a preview as well as the options to either go back and edit the design once again or to delete the design and start from scratch. Please also re-check if the shown product is similar to the item you have ordered. Once you are happy with the preview, please click on the orange button ‘Continue submission’ in order to get to step 3.
10. The last step asks you to fill in some contact details. Please make sure that the e-mail provided is correct as we will send a submission confirmation to that address. Also, please make sure to provide the correct order number so we can match your design to an order – the order number is in the title of all our post-purchase mails as well as right above the link in the design mail you received after the purchase.
You will also have to accept our T&Cs, which we urge you to read. Please also refer to our FAQ in case you have any questions what can and cannot be printed. Once you have accepted the T&Cs, click the orange button ‘Submit design’ in order to send us your ready-to-print and approved design.
11. That’s it, the last page will give you a short summary and we will also e-mail you a submission confirmation including your submission ID.
